DIY Mod Table

I moved into my apartment nearly eight months ago now, and I am just now putting the finishing touches on it. Pictures are being hung, and things are finally getting painted. I hope to do a before and after feature at some point, but for now I want to show off my nicely redone 60s mod side table in my living room!

As you can see from the before photo above, it was a bulky dark table. It was handed down to me from my mom (and actually has a twin in my parent’s house). I debated just spray painting the legs a metallic color, but it was still too looming in my apartment. I have been wanting a hairpin-legged coffee table for a while now, and decided maybe the side table would be the perfect way to get that look in my skinny living room!

The first thing this baby needed was a change of color. I went to Home Depot and came back with a pretty lilac color. My friends (and mom) were doubtful, but I had high hopes! And I think it came out great!

The trickiest part to this easy DIY was the legs. No hardware stores in my area carry table legs (that we found, at least). So we went to the internet to solve our issues! Turns out there are a lot of hairpin leg online stores. Thankfully.

We took off the old legs and drilled in the new ones and VOILA! Easiest table DIY ever. Not even very time consuming. The moral of the story is to never let a dark table get you down. It can be cinderella if it wants to be- AND it will even house your cute little pouf from Target.
