Our last two days at the lake were spent marathoning Making a Murderer and playing croquet. Probably an odd combination, but it was working for us. When we got worked up over Steven Avery, we’d go outside and hit some balls.
Fun was had.
I am in love with rainboots this winter. Like, if I had tons of money I would have ALL the rainboots in my closet. In Houston we get a lot of wear out of them too. If we, Houstonians, remember we own them that is. I have my basic Hunter boots that I scored on eBay for 60$ which have done me SO well. This Christmas I also got some J Crew yellow short boots for 30$! SALE! I love a good sale. But if I could have more… well… see below.

On New Years Day, we took a New Year walk through the country. Can I tell you how my dream is to live in the English countryside and take my five dogs on a walk every afternoon? It’s a big one. This came kind of close to it.
We ventured up to the lakehouse to spend New Years weekend with friends and family. My friend, Cassie, has a ranch about thirty minutes south of the lake so we like to split time between both places. New Years Day was the perfect day for a stroll. Don’t we look like we’re in England? Or am I just projecting?
This is one of my favorite places.
